NL Health Services is committed to continually improving our services.
Accreditation is one of the best ways to regularly assess and verify that we are providing the highest quality of care for people and communities. Accreditation Canada’s (AC) programs assess organizations against standards developed by Health Standards Organization (HSO), International Standards Organization (ISO) and others.
NL Health Services works with external peer surveyors from AC to prepare for regular reviews. These reviews examine our services, policies, procedures, facilities and leadership. Our participation in the Qmentum Global™ for Canadian Accreditation program is voluntary, and enables us to evaluate our performance transparently against national standards of excellence. It also enables us to identify opportunities to improve care and services.
In 2025, NL Health Services began a four-year sequential accreditation cycle. This includes visits from AC surveyors at our sites across the province during each sequence to review selected programs and services.
