To be eligible, you must:

• Be enrolled in a full or part-time program at a recognized college or university.
• Have completed at least one year of your academic program.

Important information about eligibility

• You must be a dependant of an employee or physician who has worked full-time for at least two years, or an equivalent number of part-time hours.
• A dependent is defined as a child or other dependent under the age of 25.
• If you previously received an Eastern Health legacy scholarship, you may still be eligible, but preference will be given to those who have not received one before.
• The selection criteria may be different for each scholarship. Please refer to details in the table above.

NL Health Services offers Quality Health-Care Scholarships to eligible employees pursuing higher education. These awards are designed to support studies that enhance quality, ethics and disclosure practices in health care.

• Employees and dependants of staff and physicians are encouraged to apply.
• You may receive a Quality Healthcare Scholarship once.
• You may re-apply if you were unsuccessful in a previous year.
• Scholarship funds are intended to help cover your educational costs.

If you receive a Quality Health-Care Scholarship, you will be asked to:

• Provide a progress report to NL Health Services after year one of studies.
• Upon request, present your final product/findings or provide a written report to NL Health Services upon program completion.
• Acknowledge NL Health Services in any publications related to your scholarship-supported work.
