Vaccine appointments
Covid-19 and influenza vaccines are available by appointment and can be received at the same time. They are safe and effective in reducing the spread of these viruses and the severity of illness.
Who should get vaccinated for Covid-19 and influenza
Who should get vaccinated for Covid-19 and influenza vaccination is recommended and available for anyone six months and older.
- Covid-19 vaccines: If you have been previously vaccinated against Covid-19, it is recommended that you wait at least six months from your last Covid-19 vaccine before getting the updated vaccine for best results. There may be situations where a shorter interval is recommended; please consult your health care provider for advice.
- Flu (influenza) vaccines: Everyone six months and older in Newfoundland and Labrador should get a flu shot. This is advised especially for the following groups:
- Children 6-59 months of age; adults and children with certain health conditions; seniors and pregnant individuals.

- By phone: Call toll-free: For homebound or frail individuals who cannot travel to a public flu clinic or visit a pharmacist or doctor, a home vaccination visit can be arranged.

- Vaccines are also free at participating local pharmacies and family doctors.
When you go to your appointment
Follow these health and safety tips when visiting health-care facilities:
- Stay home if you are sick and avoid visiting vulnerable individuals.
- Wash your hands often, maintain physical distancing, and cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing.
- Wear a medical mask when visiting health facilities, particularly if you have symptoms.
- Bring your valid MCP card.
- Wear a short-sleeved shirt if you will be receiving a vaccine.
