The Provincial Cardiovascular and Stroke Program helps prevent, diagnose, treat, and support recovery from heart disease and stroke across the province.
We deliver patient-centred care through a network of hospitals, clinics and health-care professionals. Our focus is on early detection, emergency response, and advanced treatment options while promoting public education on risk factors and healthy lifestyle choices.
Cardiac care
The cardiovascular and stroke program brings services to patients with a closer-to-home strategy whenever possible. Cardiologists travel to local hospitals to offer clinics in collaboration with local health-care providers to reduce unnecessary patient travel. Virtual appointments may also facilitate consultation in your home or at a local hospital.

Inpatient services
Cardiac inpatient services may take place either in local health-care facilities nearest you or at the Health Sciences Centre.
Outpatient services
We provide outpatient services for you and encourage your family and caregivers to participate in your care.
